After 2 weeks of brutal side effects from an increased dose of my Xeloda (5FU) home chemotherapy pills, this is the first day that I feel like my normal, peppy, joyful Self.

This rebound from chemotherapy side effects is the result of the loving care I have received from my husband and family; my belief and conviction that God would help me bounce back; my body’s incredible resilience and ability to heal my inner organs and immune system (gut microbiome); and my listening to my body when she couldn’t stand the sight of food, and was aching – when necessitated me finding foods that she could tolerate.

These foods happened to be Chinese soups (War Won Ton, Eggdrop soup, Miso soup and Japanese brown fried rice with chicken and shrimp, tuna and salmon sashimi, Mexican papaya, hot water with lemon, soft yellow corn tortillas filled with egg omelet, bananas and avocado.

Also, I had to allow my body to rest and sleep alot, as well as telling her I would do whatever she needed; that I would NEVER GIVE UP ON HER AND LOVED her immensely and forever.

I hope I provide some inspiration for all those who are in cancer and other challenging treatments and circumstances.
