I will be sharing some writing from my journal this morning that explains the differences between my first chemotherapy Gemsar, which I took from Jan – June 2021, and this new type of chemotherapy pills.

For me, this experience is life-changing and so perfect for me as an independent person and Holistic psychotherapist – dealing with healing of body, mind, emotions and spirit.

Here is my journal entry from this morning:

“Dearest Holy Trinity,
Thank You for my peace-filled day yesterday and the start of taking 4 Xeloda pills (2 after breakfast, 2 after dinner) every day for 14 days, then 7 days off; repeat the cycle.

My first experience with chemotherapy after Pancreatic surgery in 10-23-20, was very different: I was terrified, I did not want to do it, and I felt like a captive dog with a leash and tight collar wrapped around my neck, trapped in a chair, with an IV catheter in my arm, hoping the nurse could find a receptive vein. I was totally “out of control,” at the mercy of the nurses, my Oncologist, and his Nurse Practitioner. Some days my blood pressure would rise to a high of 165, when my normal rate is 120.

I am so blessed that my new Oncologist has prescribed Xeloda pills, which I give to myself at home. Here, I have control of everything: I give the pills to myself, in a peace-filled location that I have chosen. When I sit in my Vintage wing chair with my beloved Hopie the Therapy Cat on my lap, I am surrounded by the beauty of my garden, my table that holds sentimental objects, my healthy breakfast on another table, my journal, my Logbook to track my chemotherapy cycles, my Xeloda pills close at hand.

I set my daily routine to care for my body, mind, emotions and spirit: Wake up at 6am with Hopie, take a 1-hour run/walk at 7am, breakfast at 8:30, chemo pills at 9am, journal and prayer time; normal routine with therapy clients/house, juicing fruits and vegetables, making smoothies and healthy meals, rest, fun, service to my community, then repeat the chemo schedule at dinner time.

I have built/assembled a Divine, Holy, Healing space for myself.

My body is serene and peace-filled. My emotions are happy and joyful. My mind is totally at peace, committed and believing in the Power to heal my body. My spirit is smiling and proud of leading the way.

I know this new approach to my second chemo experience will provide positive results.”

I send Love, Support and Prayers to cancer patients and their families around the world.
