For those who do not know me, I am Judith Anne Desjardins – 4-year-six-month Pancreatic cancer Thrivor, Holistic Psychotherapist, and cancer Advocate.
In this video I am inviting you to visit me in my brand-new outdoor Sauna.
I purchased this sauna as a “medical device” to compliment the other parts of my Holistic Cancer Recovery protocol – empowering cancer patients to take responsibility for their own body, mind, emotions and spirit, thus influencing their treatment outcomes.
I researched the medical studies of the efficacy of Saunas and the data shows a significant benefit treating illnesses across the board – for pain management, MS, anxiety, depression, and a wide assortment of other illnesses.
I chose an outdoor Sauna that uses an electrical heater and water on rocks to produce steam, which causes the body to sweat.
There are in-home Infrared Saunas at a lower price point that heat the body with microwaves – which warm the body from the inside out.
I instinctively knew my Sauna would cause me to sweat profusely, thus releasing the chemotherapy and other toxic medications I receive during my Infusions.
I also sensed that my Sauna would help reduce the 6-10 days of side-effects after the Infusions:
Day 1 – extreme fatigue
Day 2 – beginning of hot red face, puffy, weepy eye allergic reaction to the Oxaliplatin chemotherapy
Day 3- Hand/Foot Syndrome – where palms of hands and soles of feet develop red hot, painful calluses that layer themselves and become cracked and extremely – limiting mobility
Day 4 – rock hard constipation lasting for days and food aversion
Day 5-10 – loss of weight, depression, fear of next infusion
As I predicted, my Sauna reversed that trajectory. For the first 3 days, I have had minimal to NO SIDE EFFECTS!!! The agonizing days I used to have, have vanished and been replaced with a tremendous amount of Energy, Great Appetite, Joy, Enthusiasm for Life, Busy Work in my Garden, Mental Acuity, Good Digestion and Elimination, Happiness and Gratitude.
