In my 4-year journey with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer, he has been my nurse – tending to me after surgery, chemotherapy, Ablation and Cryoablation, side effects of treatment.

He has been my therapist when I was caught in a 4-month cycle of Anxiety and FEAR of recurrence.

He is my little boy – who sleeps on my chest, snuggled up to my chin – giving me Oxytocin and Serotonin and the Healing effects of his enormous Love for me. He licks my face when I cry. He searches me out when I get up in the middle of the night with FEAR and OVERWHELM.

He rests in my arms every evening at our spiritual altar and joins me when we pray for family, friends, and cancer patients around the world. He loves Mary, Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit.

He joins me in my bathroom every night – where we both have routines of grooming before bed.

He is my little Buddy/copilot when we make the 2-day drive to Santa Fe each year. He sits on my lap the entire way, never making so much as a “peep.” He loves driving through the Navajo Nation and is much admired when we visit the Trading Posts in Gallup.

He loves the wildness of Santa Fe and staying up all night in our screened-in porch, exploring our wonderful yard with so many great trees, exploring every nook and cranny, and listening to the birds and coyotes.

And he loves when his Daddy flies over to join us and travels back home with us.

We rescued him in 2013, but he has RESCUED US ever since.

God has truly blessed us with this magnificent little boy.
